How long will it take to receive a credit or refund for returned items?
If you have a NextPay / Pay in 3 credit account:
- We’ll apply the credit to your account immediately and the funds will be made available for you to spend. Your item(s) will show as returned within the Orders section of My Account within 1 working day
- If your account is in credit, you can request a refund by calling us on 0333 777 8000*. Our team will process your refund within 1 working day. You will need to check with your payment provider for the timeline on when the funds will be made available to you as this is outside of our control
If you do not have a Next credit account:
- We’ll refund back to your original method of payment on the same day you return the item(s) to the store with the exception of Paypal refunds, which will be refunded within 1 working day
- As stated above, please check with your payment provider for the timeline on when the funds will be made available to you
For any credit / debit card refunds processed by our team in the Contact Centre, we’ll send you an email with the ARN (Acquirer Reference Number), which you can quote to your bank should you need to query the refund.
If you are due to be refunded by a Next Gift Card, please allow time for postage (typically up to 5 working days).

Your refund will be processed by Next within 1 working day once the item(s) reach our returns centre (typically takes 3 days).

If you have a nextpay or Pay in 3 credit account, but you made a payment by debit/credit card, PayPal or Next gift card / eVoucher at the time of order, any refund due for that order will be applied to your Next credit account and not the method used for payment. This is because any payment you make at the time of your order is used to free up the credit on your account. The available credit is then used to purchase the items and your account is classed as the original payment method. The order is then added to your Next credit account.
If the items are cancelled or returned your Next credit account will be credited and a refund back to the debit/credit, PayPal or Next gift card / eVoucher will not be processed, unless you are in credit with us.
